Es sind weder kleine noch große Hits zu vermerken sondern einfach nur zwölf nette Lieder die man vielleicht mal als Hintergrundberieselung auflegen kann wenn die alten Kumpels mit den bunten Haaren und lustigen Drecklocks mal wieder im Lande sind. Auch auf die Gefahr hin dass diese dann lieber alte THE EXPLOITED oder G. B. H. (für echten Punk) hören wollen bleibt immer noch die come about dass sich das Pack schneller wieder verzieht wenn man ihnen DEATHKILLER aufzwängt. Insgesamt ein erträgliches Album ohne besondere Vorkommnisse. So gern ich der Band ein richtig positives Feedback geben würde denn die Ansätze und die Mittel sind wirklich gut aber am Ende bleibt leider nur halbgare Musik und etwas Enttäuschung übrig. Wie man an deiner DJ Geschichte sehen kann gab es einige Breaks wo du deinen Musikstil geändert hast. Oft waren deine Fans davon vor den Kopf gestoßen. Wie ist es dazu gekommen ? Tanith: Nach einer Weile ists genug: man versucht etwas zur Vollendung zu bringen aber man merkt dann daß der Musikstil nichts mehr bringt. Das war so mit den Breakcore mit Hardcore und auch mit den Progressive-Sachen. Diese Stile haben ihre Zeit und irgendwann werden die Produktionen klischeehaft es kommen keine neuen Elemente hinzu also könnte man im Grunde auch die alten Platten spielen. Dann suche ich lieber nach neuen Sachen die daran anschließen. Manches ist gar nicht so weit weg. Das meiste an Musikstilen ist eine Mediengeschichte denn die meisten haben viel gemeinsam. Sei es die Rhythmik oder die Atmosphäre es ist lediglich ein anderes Deckmäntelchen drüber. Wie bei Happy-Hardcore damals. Bis zu den Sachen wie Force crowd Motion sind die Leute noch dabei wenn danach dann Breakbeats kommen ist der Schritt für die Leute groß obwohl beides im Grunde zusammenhängt. Das ist eigentlich kein Sprung sondern eine Weiterentwicklung die evolutionär von statten geht. Dabei sehe ich keine Trennung. Wenn ich mir frühe Lil-Louis-Stücke wie Videoclash anhöre das ist für mich auch Industrial wie es Ministry mit einem anderen Instrumentarium gemacht haben. Schwarz und Industrial passen schon zusammen. Auch sonntags im Tresor hört man jetzt Sachen die in anderen Läden vielleicht zu hart wären. Du kriegst einen anderen Ãœberblick wenn du dich so lange mit der Musik beschäftigst. Wenn du siehst was man mit elektronischer Musik machen kann dann kommt es nicht mehr drauf an. Wenn ich hart hätte bleiben wollen dann würde ich immer noch Laibach oder Revolting Cocks spielen. Oder auch Foetus das war härter als es Gabba heute ist. Aber es ging mir nie um die Härte. Es kommt immer auf die Kombination an. Das ist schon immer ein Grenzgang. Wenn ich 100%ig das machen würde was ich wollte dann wäre da auch coat. HipHop oder Dub mit bei. Aber das kann man einem Publikum das nicht darauf vorbereitet ist nicht zumuten. Ich kann nicht in irgendeinen Laden gehen und nur spielen was mir Spaß macht. Ich spiele accommodate bis Techno was so ungefähr 70% von dem ist was ich höre. Die anderen 30% behalte ich für mich weil das bestimmt sehr viele auf einem Rave z. B gar nicht kapieren würden. Wenn die Möglichkeiten gegeben wären also vielleicht auch mal ein brauchbarer CD-Player vorhanden ist und nicht diese Hifi-Schrott-Dinger dann würde ich soetwas auch mit einfließen lassen. Im Tresor habe ich das ab und zu schon gemacht. Da spiele ich die ersten 2 Stunden Jungle da sind nicht so viele Leute da und die die da sind stört es nicht. Ob ich die Metal-Sachen auch bringe weiß ich nicht. Aber es kommt die Zeit wo das machbar ist. Aber im Moment ist es noch nicht soweit. Ich habe auch jeden Tag mit Musik zu tun ich setze mich jeden Tag damit auseinander und so ist es für mich einfacher nachzuvollziehen warum da jetzt ein vermeintlicher Stilwechsel erfolgt. Während es für Leute die Techno nur am Wochenende durchziehen nicht so einfach ist. Für mich ist Hardcore nach wie vor ein gewisser Lebensstil. Fälschlicherweise betrachten viele Hardcore als gleichbedeutend mit Gabba weil beide zur gleichen Zeit entstanden sind. Ich meinte damit immer einen anderen harten Lebensstil. Raven im Maximum. Mittlerweile gibt es so viele die ihr Leben lediglich durch Techno bestreiten in dem Riesending arbeiten dort ihr Auskommen haben am Wochenende auf Parties gehen dort Leute kennenlernen mit denen was zusammen machen vielleicht mit denen arbeiten. Das ist für mich eigentlich Hardcore. Ein Leben nur im Ravebusiness. Nicht mehr so extrem wie früher. Wenn Du das drei Jahre machst dann hat sich das nach einer Weile erledigt. Du kennst jede Nuance jeden Zustand deiner Freunde jeden deiner eigenen jede Paranoia. Für mich gibt es mittlerweile andere Sachen. Anstelle jede Woche in einen Technoladen zu gehen gehe ich auf Metal-Konzerte oder fahre an den See. Es gibt Sachen wie La Fura dels Baus (spanische AnarchoTechnoZirkus-Show) die ein bißchen anders sind. Bis jetzt bin ich da nur im Publikum. Mir ist Veranstalten zu stressig. Andere Leute haben da ein Gefühl für denen macht es Spaß die können gar nicht anders als ständig zu telefonieren. Ich mag das nicht und deswegen mache ich es auch nicht. Nach dem Abstecher in Richtung Breakbeats kam dann deine populäre Phase im Walfisch und später auch im move was musikalisch das gleiche war. In beiden Läden hast du mit DJ Spezial einen Happy-Stil geprägt der im Prinzip der Vorläufer des Kommerz-Techno von heute war. Frustriert dich der Erfolg der Leute die heute auf dieser Schiene fahren? Nö das geht mir am Arsch vorbei. Damals war das ganze innovativ und keiner hat das kommerzielle Potential darin gesehen. Es waren zwar auch “Hits” dabei wie die Brainstorm Sachen aus Italien aber auch die waren nie in irgendwelchen Charts. Für mich war das auch kein Thema es war einfach neue frische Musik die nach House und Techno oder anderen komplizierten Strukturen einfach die beste AfterHourMusik bot. Das war ohne Ãœberlegung richtige “Bauch”-Musik für Europäer. Die Amis haben ihr accommodate in verschiedenen Spielarten und die werden hier in Europa alle als etwas besonderes gehandelt weil es den “incise” hat weil es Tradition hat oder was weiß ich. Wenn wir nicht auch mal anfangen egal ob es kommerziell ist oder nicht werden wir auch nie irgendwelche Wurzeln entwickeln können. Einen Stil nur deswegen zu dissen weil er einfach ist das kann doch nicht der Sinn der Sache sein. Wenn die Musik tatsächlich auch dem Bauch kommt dann haben kommerzielle Sachen auch ihre Berechti-gung. Also die billigste Kommerz-Scheiße mit Micky Mouse-Stimmen oder immer den gleichen Produktionsmitteln mal ausgenommen. Sowas wie “Hardcore Vibes” hätte ich damals z. B nicht gespielt da paßt doch nichts zusammen. Wenn wenigstens hintendran noch was dialektisches käme wär es ja okay aber mit dieser billigen Melodie für die ganze Familie ich weiß ja nicht. Da wird ganz genau geguckt ob das bei den Massen auch ankommt. Die Platten von No Respect hat z. B jeder verflucht damals ein paar davon fand ich halt richtig geil weil die englischer waren als irgendwelche Engländer. Was jetzt jemand wie Blu Peter in England derzeit so hoch lobt dieses NewNRG Zeug hatten wir hier schon vor ein paar Jahren. Bist du nie in Versuchung geraten das ganze mal für viel Geld zu verkaufen? Gab es da nie Leute die an dich rangetreten sind mit der Absicht viel Kohle mit dir zu machen? Die come about hätte ich zweimal gehabt aber was hat man davon? Ein halbes Jahr lang scheffelst du Kohle und kannst danach deinen engsten Freunden nicht mehr ins Gesicht sehen weil ich das was ich in 32 Jahren bei mir kultiviert habe verraten müsste. Wenn meine Ideen mein Ding so wie ich es verstehe an die große Masse ging dann wäre das okay aber in dem Moment wo Leute hinter dir stehen und sagen: Wir machen dich zu dem und dem dann ist es vorbei mit mir. Aber ich habe nichts dagegen wenn 5.000 oder 50.000 Leute einen anderen Geschmack entwickeln der neben dem ausgetretenen Weg liegt wo man ein bißchen unter die Oberfläche sieht. Dagegen habe ich natürlich nichts. Aber so wie man es im Moment vorgemacht kriegt geht alles in eine Richtung alles ist gleich oder es werden.
