ok. Dubai & rest of emirates do have this policy but very few know about it not sure why as it heavily promoted itself as a tourist destination. Unfortunately for groove-rider if known about or not HE IS getting 4 Years (unless its more for hardcore porn bearing in mind FHM nuts etc is porn in that country) no deportation etc... goodbye groove-rider for now.
The scary bit is if you want to visit Dubai or anywhere in the United Emirates i would strongly suggest you dont act any write of recreational medicate 4 - 5 weeks before you go.

Basically to sum it up she was found to have traces of codeine in a urine sample she took while passing through Dubai. These were prescribed by the adulterate and she finished her course a day or two before the trip. If found guilty of possession (which she was) she would approach 4 years in prison lucky they proved it was for a medical problem prescribed by a doctor so she got out after 7 weeks.
OK - Now Codeine is available over-the-counter in any chemist in UK and if you havent got a prescription/seen a doctor just used it as a flu-remedy goodbye your gone for 4 years. change surface in go across to some other destination unfortunately if your head dont fit.
